Authorities are investigating a fatal accident on the Garden State Parkway this evening, sources told TLS.

The accident occurred shortly before 8 PM on the northbound lanes at approximately mile marker 114.

A witness told TLS it happened so quickly in front of him, but it appeared the motorcyclist possibly swerved to avoid a vehicle, and was apparently ejected over the median.

The witness says the rider appeared dead instantly, though at least two local residents – one an EMT and another an RN – stopped to try and save the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The motorcycle struck the guardrail, causing the operator, Lance Pesetsky, to get ejected from the motorcycle resulting in fatal injuries,” New Jersey State Police told TLS.

Lance Pesetsky, 63, is from Matawan, N.J.
