U.S. Senators Bob Menendez, a senior member of the Senate Finance Committee that sets national health policy, and Cory Booker today announced $2,309,519 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to continue the essential health care services provided at several New Jersey Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
“Community Health Centers are a critical piece of the puzzle in ensuring everyone has access to quality, affordable health care in this country. By offering quality health care in our communities, health centers help individuals access vital preventive services and avoid expensive emergency room visits,” said Sen. Menendez. “This funding will help ensure that residents of New Jersey continue to benefit from robust and comprehensive health care, regardless of their socioeconomic status.”
“We already know that far too many communities in New Jersey face steep barriers to accessing adequate health care,” said Sen. Booker. “This crucial federal funding will help address these health inequities by ensuring community health centers across the state have the resources needed to continue to provide necessary services to thousands of New Jerseyans.”
