VIDEO & PHOTOS: New Lakewood Police Officers sworn in, including Department’s first-ever Orthodox Jewish officer

Lakewood welcomed its newest police Officers today, including its first-ever Frum police officer.

The graduation of the Ocean County Police Academy’s 107th Class, was held at the Georgian Court College.

Graduated included Officers from around Ocean County.

“Among them is the Township’s first Frum hire along with a very diverse representative of young men and women of all ethnic backgrounds,” Chief Greg Meyer said upon their hiring.   1. Why does lakewood need MORE police Officers??? Lakewood is low crime…

    Take the tax dollars and use it for something that is more of an necessity…

    We don’t need police officers managing construction sites… ridiculous!!!

  2. Lakewood probably can use more police, not sure that’s a problem. And they do the construction jobs on their off days, I think. It’s actually a good idea for them to supplement their income. Wish someone would come up with idea for rebbeim to make more money, like $100 per hour, in their off time.
    I do think Lakewood police should focus more on developing their skills. Seems pretty rare that we hear about crimes that are solved

    @TLS please note that years back Lakewood had a frum police officer, I believe his name was Officer Shaw. Look it up.
