Authorities this evening are investigating a bomb threat in Toms River.
At approximately 7:07 PM this evening, September 11, multiple police unites were dispatched to the Shoprite on Route 37 after a bomb threat was received via telephone to the business.
The building and parking lot were evacuated and Toms River Police, as well as, Ocean County Sheriff (Bomb) K9 officers checked the area and store for explosives yielding negative results.
At this time there is no active threat to the public. The investigation as to the origin of the call is ongoing.
