FIRST REPORT: Authorities investigating two shootings in Lakewood; One shooter reportedly in custody

Authorities are investigating two overnight shootings in Lakewood, sources told TLS.

Initial information we received indicates police responded to a development in the New Hampshire Avenue area approximately 2:30 AM for the reports of a shooting. Nobody was hit, and the shooter is reportedly in custody.

Just minutes later, sources say, police responded to another shooting, also off New Hampshire Avenue, where multiple casings were found. Nobody was hit in that shooting either. The shooter is reportedly at large.

Investigations are underway.

UPDATE: Police say at approximately 1:40 am, Police were called in reference to an unidentified man outside threatening people with a handgun at 433 Woodlake Manor Drive. The caller stated that the suspect fired two shots in the air after an argument with his girlfriend.

Upon arrival, there were a number of people inside the residence with the suspect still in possession of a handgun.

Responding Officers heard what they believed to be approximately 5-7 shots fired inside the house.

The suspect, later identified as Jeffrey Pleites-Sola, was able to elude responding units on foot for a short time.

After a brief search of the area, Sola was found squatting in the dumpster of an adjacent neighborhood. A subsequent check of the area found a handgun in the area of the driveway to Woodlake Country Club.

Jeffrey Pleites-Sola was arrested without further incident and transported to the Lakewood Police Department.
At this time the investigation is still active and charges will be announced later on today.

  1. This must be a mistake, the Governor just signed a new law that was going to stop this from ever happening again.

I guess these guys didn’t get the memo!
