  1. Unsure there are 2 reasons why shulls are opening one is either because there is a need for the public and another reason is so different chasidim can have their own shull or certain people need their own shull just like u want ur own house it’s a necessity for them which is not a bad thing at the end of the day.

  2. The satmar minyan on this side of town has been meeting for many years in a basement. The growth which this fine minyan has experienced has made building a shul a real need. People want this so they are putting in the effort. May Hashem yisborach bless their efforts

  3. this is moradik, I am old enough to remember when Williamsburg was majority litvish and certainly when boro park was, the chasidim take a huge interest in making sure a community has all its own infrastructure needs are met like mikvos.

  4. its across the street from Coventry, seems like since Bobov has a big shul down the block they felt a need to have a satmar as well, as there aren’t many satmar chasidim in the hood

    • Yiddish infrastructure #7 like mikvos, Brooklynites are not the cause of subpar infrastructure it is a city government that needs to invest more resources into it that is the cause, I support a slight tax increase to fix our infrastructure as much of our taxes go to helping our vibrant public schools.

  5. Monroe ur right most of the people davening in the current satmer are not satmer chasidim but if everyone is building nice large shulls then why not satmer.

  6. @monroe, I don’t understand your problem, no one is forcing you to daven there, they didn’t ask you to pay for it, and I would guess that you have enjoyed the service of satmar Shul in Lakewood.
BTW, they have a Shul in that neighborhood for seven years, just building a proper new Shul, so don’t get upset. Yes, in Lakewood we built nice and big Shuls, it’s something to be proud of
