[COMMUNICATED] You may have already noticed the pomegranates all over town.
No, not the ones you buy in the grocery; the eye catching lawn signs from Tomchei Shabbos of Lakewood announcing a truly special opportunity – the “Million Dollar Day of Giving” – to help cover the staggering costs of ensuring that every single needy family in the greater Lakewood area will receive its basic needs during this time of the year. Elul has arrived.
The sound of the shofar each morning reminds us of the approaching Yemei Hadin and awakens us to examine our deeds and increase our teshuva, tefilla and tzedakah. Surely, one also warmly recalls the inimitable Tomchei Shabbos Pomegranate that came to your door! But it also brings to mind the less fortunate who struggle with the financial burden of feeding their families throughout the Yom Tov Season. Tomchei Shabbos of Lakewood’s monthly budget balloons in Tishrei to $1.1 Million, an astronomic expense!
The “Million Dollar Day of Giving” – to take place this Moday and Tuesday – has been made possible by generosity of a few dedicated, understanding individuals from the kehilla who recognize the need to provide Tomchei Shabbos with the wherewithal to fulfill its sacred mission. They have agreed to triple all donations [pledged] on the “Million Dollar Day of Giving” by matching the benefactor’s gift with a double donation of their own – making your donation triple in size!
This Monday-Tuesday, our communities and beyond will unite for a powerful Zechus to bring for the Yom HaDin, ONE MILLION DOLLARS of Tzedakah for the Aniyim in our neighborhoods. Join Us!

Kudos to Tomchei Shabbos and all the volunteers and devoted askonim.
