UPDATE: Juvenile harassment and bias intimidation complaints filed against driver in Jackson who swerved and cursed at Jewish residents

Jackson police say they were able to identify the driver involved in the bias incident in Jackson over Shabbos. The incident was first reported by TLS.

Jackson police wrote, “Police Officer Stephen Cilento investigated the incident and was able to identify the driver of the vehicle after being provided with the license plate. The teenaged male driver was later identified and juvenile complaints charging him with harassment and bias intimidation were prepared. The matter will be forwarded to the Family Court.

  1. To the one who said they had a similar incident on Shabbos in Central with a car heading to Jackson, please reach out to the police to add. Also I do believe a teen can change and hopefully this will do it for him.

  2. why only juvenile charges, if theyre old enough to drive they’re old enough to be charged as adults!!!
seems the power that be in jackson has tied the jackson pd’s hands on this one they all drink from the same poisonous well water of hatred as the mayor and the rest of the township committee in jackson

    • Age. Also, the police don’t file charges, that would be the prosecutor.

Glad they have a suspect, and if found guilty, is given the maximum punishment allowed by law.

  3. I am grateful that an arrest was made so quickly, and this individual is no longer a threat. I trust that the Family Court will deal with him appropriately, and refer him to the adult court if they feel the charges and his criminal history warrant it.

  4. Attempted murder should be the charge. The fact that he is a minor does not lessen the deadly potential consequences of his actions. This should be treated accordingly.

Just because he is a juvenile does not give him leeway in this matter. Should be tried as an adult, as any other attempted murder by a juvenile would be.
