UPDATED THURSDAY: Search underway for missing autistic teen in Lakewood (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

The Lakewood Police Department and dozens of volunteers are currently searching for a missing autistic juvenile, after she ran off from a family member.

17-year-old Jennifer Valle-Valiente was last seen in the area of Second Street and Park Avenue at approximately 6 pm.

She is described as approximately 4’8″ to 5’4” tall, 130 LBS, black hair, black glasses and wearing a purple t-shirt, light gray sweat pants and black nike sneakers.

Authorities are utilizing a drone and K9 in the search.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lakewood Police Department at 732-363-0200 immediately.

UPDATE: The search was terminated around 11:30 PM for the night, and will resume at daybreak.

School District Attorney Michael Inzelbuch tells TLS that the teachers and students have been notified via text and email to report info to police.

UPDATE – THURSDAY: Police are still investigating. “At this time she has not been located. The investigation is still active and more information will be released as it becomes available,” Captain Greg Staffordsmith said.
