Klal Yisroel lost a beacon of Torah with the petirah of posek hador Harav Nissim Karelitz on Isru Chag in Eretz Yisroel, at the age of 93.
Harav Karelitz was the rosh av beis din in Bnei Brak for over 50 years, as well as the rav of Ramat Aharon neighborhood in Bnei Brak.

Tens of thousands attended his levaya where maspidim included his son, Rav Yeshayahu Karelitz, Rav Dov Povarsky, Rav Gershon Edelstien, and Rav Dov Landau.

Following the hespedim, Rav Karelitz was buried next to his wife in the Ponovezher Bais Ha’olam.
