  1. What a wonderful person, expert in child psychology, talented educator and so incredibly selfless!!! We could use more ppl like her in today’s Lakewood!

  2. Yes, this is the one who specialized in selective mutism. What a wonderful and special person!! Back in the day, she was a four year old boys Morah and a family member of mine had the privilege of working with her. She was a treasure trove of wisdom and guidance and helped so many children, specifically overcome selective mutism. What a tremendous loss! She should be a meilitz yosher for her family and Klal Yisroel.

  3. BDE. What a loss to klal yisroel. I was lucky enough to have attended her class a number of years back and she was so brilliant, but so approachable. May her family have a Nechama.

  4. She said that she herself had selective mutism, way before that diagnosis became widely known. She overcame it by herself. She said she still had remnants. That;’s why she was so good at helping others who suffered from selective mutism. She was warm, caring, considerate, straight and effective. She had a sterling personality. She helped many people.

  5. in addition to all the praises, she has at least 2 chushuva sons , one in Eretz Yisroel a tremendou talmid chochom and yiras shamayim and another son Zalmy in North Miami Beach who is an outstanding baal chesed and runs Hatzolo down south. May she be a meilitza yashara for her entire family and may her husband Reb Yitzcok have a refuah Sh’laima

  6. I had to h zechus of being in her playgroup about 38 years ago it made an ever lasting impression, may she be a malitz yosher for her family and for all the yidishe kinderlach, who she cared so much for.

  7. When Shaindel & her husband moved to e”y TLS put out a video where Shaindel was interviewed about life in the Lakewood of old. Wouldn’t it be appropriate for TLS to show the video again at this time? I’m sure Those of us who miss her would love to see it. And for those who weren’t privileged to know her, the interview would give them a glimpse of who she was.

  8. In addition to those two sons, she had at least two other Chushuva sons, one my former dira mate, R’ Sholom and the other, R’ Nosson Dovid who learned with me in Peekskill. BD”E.

  9. what a wonderful and special person morah shaindel was! all of my sons were privileged to be her students and i will never forget the kindness and wisdom that she possessed. her optimistic view on life and her hearty laugh will never be forgotten. what a loss to all of us.
