  • Whats the chiddush? says:

    Always gotta check pistachios.

I’ve found worms at random times

  • ooh, gross says:

I eat these nuts all the time, I check them from time to time and I’ve never, ever, found anything in them. But I guess you still gotta be careful. .
Thx, TLS, for this news bit.

  • Chaim says:

Is this a psak Halacha? A single worm in one pistachio does not create a miut hamatzui. The fact is that any natural product will occasionally contain bugs, but that does not create a chiyuv to check everything.

“Could be wormy” would apply to any food product bought anywhere at any time.

  • ZUMY says:

Most nuts and dried fruit need checking before consumption. It’s not really fair to malign a particular brand, suggesting that all other are just ok to pop in your mouth without prior inspection.
