  1. It is terrible. Whenever I drive there and want to go straight, other drivers assume I am turning because I need to shift to the right lane.

  2. I was wondering the same thing last week when I drove to a wedding in Ateres Chana. In the dark it’s even scarier. Considering that on the block before the left lane is straight… And all those arrows and diagonal lines don’t help the matter. Especially that they are so white on the freshly paved road.

  3. I spoke to the mayor and he says gonna send people down to check it out.
He said there was a argument in traffic and safety which way makes more sense this way or a different way and I guess he decided to do this way.

Welcome to the most amazing Lakewood with all these amazing traffic patterns. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

  4. It’s impossible to judge from this video. Here, there is clearly someone standing in the street taking the video. If the lane was clear, perhaps it would work better.

  5. its amazing, b.c you never have to wait longer then a few minutes over there, even in the worst times, yet they did a huge striping project! however all over the south side of Lakewood where you can wait 35 minutes (like james, pine, central, cross, miller etc…) nothing is ever done! for years we are waiting for them to stripe James with turning lanes etc…its all a joke!

  6. How about about when there is a bus at the bus stop? What are the drivers supposed to do?? They need to make room for the bus stop. Like where the sidewalk is.

  7. I suppose they were trying to satisfy both sides of the aisle, those who are on the Left, and those who are on the Right…. and I suppose Center-Right too. Center-Left doesn’t exist anymore.

  8. NO NO NO. Dosen’t make sense, never did, and never will. This was truly wrong idea from the get go. There isn’t a possible understanding to make sense out of it.

  9. RABOSEI, STOP KNOCKING EVERYTHING.. THE TOWNSHIP IS VERY GOOD TO THE OILAM. THEY TRY TO HELP US ALL. EVEN IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND SOME THINGS DON’T KNOCK. JUST GO IN TO THE TOWNSHIP AND EXPRESS YOUR OPINION IN A NICE WAY AND THEY WILL TRY TO HELP TAKING EEEEVERYONE INTO CONSIDERATION NOT JUST YOU.REMEMBER YOU JUST SEE IT YOUR WAY BUT THEY TAKE EVERY ONES OPINIONS IN CONSIDERATION

  10. It can make sense If there are the yellow lines forcing cars to the right leading up to it (making it a turning lane) – but your video only shows half of the picture… if they’re unable to make the yellow lines before the turning lane then they should just take out the turning lane and leave it with a wide shoulder so cars can go around if a car is turning. You don’t want to make the left lane for straight and turning left with the other lane for right turns only – as there’s no point in a dedicated right turning lane and cars going straight will just get stuck behind a left turning car…

  11. We need to be careful with other people money. Especially hard earned tax dollars. It borders on stealing from a Rabim. Very hard to do real tesuvah.

  12. I imagine people driving at slower speeds from the 4 way stop are more inclined to navigate it correctly. Can’t stomp on the gas and expect to see everything

  13. And crossing over from the side street just got very dangerous. As you inch forward on tenth to cross over, cars on Clifton suddenly veer towards the right coming dangerously close as they try to continue straight.

  14. Hmmm. I just saw three drivers in the video totally ignore it. THAT’s the issue. Hope the right lane is long enough before the turn, as in no parking which will also be ignored. And where are the stop signs?

  15. Yes. It makes sense! Finally a well planned area. If you want to argue, I can agree that it would be slightly better if the arrow in the left lane was showing both left AND straight (similar to the left lane). It is important to be able to legally pass cars making left turns.

  16. I don’t live in Lkwd but I live in a town of similar size. There is an intersection one block from my home that is striped like this. It also has a traffic signal. I use it several times a day. Just something to consider.

  17. this mistake is to have an entrance and exit into the parking lot from clifton ave they should have made 9th st entrance and 10th street exit and close off the clifton ave entrance this would enable the right lane to for the traffic continuing on clifton north bound to start at 9th st and not have to swerve right and then left agian the parking spaces on 10th and clifton should also be removed giving the thru traffic a chance to get back into the center lane
this whole corner is comical trying to cram in as many parking spaces as you can doesnt help the situation
if your really concerned about traffic flow then remove the parking spaces on clifton ave between 9th and 10th st
i have nothing against BMG but the neighbors werent consulted about any of these MAJOR changes before they were implemented

  18. It’s amazing the incompetency this reflects. Who in their right mind would decide to do this. I’m glad I don’t drive in that area.

  19. Someone should look at the other side of that intersection: 9th and Clifton. How can you have a road divide into 3 lanes at a 4-way stop sign?! WHO GOES FIRST!!!?
