BREAKING: Two gunshot victims brought to MMCSC in Lakewood

Two gunshot victims were brought into MMCSC in Lakewood early this morning, as first reported on our news alerts.

Details surrounding the shooting were not immediately available, but sources say one victim was driven by a friend, and another drove himself. One victim reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

The shooting did not occur in Lakewood.

The seriously-injured victim was flown out to RWJ.

An investigation is underway.

UPDATE: Jackson Police say the shooting occurred approximately 2:06 AM at the parking lot of the Jackson Crossing plaza on South Hope Chapel Road.

“Officers arrived on scene and learned that a 20-year-old male and 44-year-old male had been shot after a disturbance occurred at an event being held at the plaza. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment for their injuries.”
