    • exactly how much more room should this person have given the front driver when turning a corner? they couldn’t have been going more than 15-20 mph…

  1. True he was wrong for crossing that way. But you were tailgating. You need to always keep enough distance between you and the car in front of you to be able to stop even if he short stops.
Were you distracted by something you were doing in the car that you didnt notice the car in front of you stopping?
Remember people stop short for all sorts of things not just pedestrians. Keep your distance from the car in front of you!!! particularly if the road is slippery.
All that being said. Do not cross against the light

  2. I have noticed very often that people cross the street even when the light says don’t walk because they see the light is red and then get upset at the cars that have right of way due to a left green turn signal its time to give some pedestrians an education. this happens to me veryoften at main street and clifton when making a left turn on to clifton. that turning signal is very short and many times im left waiting for pedestrians to cross when its not thier right of way

  3. The second vehicle should give the first vehicle enough room so the second vehicle can stop “IF” the first one does. Everyone is in such a hurry.

  4. look at the video. there is plenty of room. the back guy even try to swerve away from the first car. when someone shorts stop so abruptly theres not much anyone can do

    • Theres not much anyone can do… if your that close. I woulda been too, but you know that theres supposed to be at least 1 car length in between.

  5. Anon – is u look at the video the ped does not have the right of way. There is a red hand stop light. Also there is no cross walk there’s so technically it’s not a legal place to cross

  6. Anon- look at the video. There is a red stop light for the pedestrians. The kid does not have the right of way. Furthermore there is not even a cross walk there. So technically it’s not even a legal place to cross

  7. Actually the pedestrian was crossing when appropriate – toward a green light. The drivers were making a right turn. The issue here was that the pedestrian RAN across the street taking the first driver by surprise when he ran in front of him. This caused him to short stop. The 2nd driver didn’t expect the first driver to make a short stop in middle of a right turn simply because he could not see the pedestrian due to the first car or darkness.

I always wait for the light.
    To no Avail.
There’s Always someone trying to beat the Light and Make a Turn.

  9. sir- a green traffic light means the cars have the right to go. thats not for peds. the ped light which is the red hand was clearly up which means the ped did not have the right of way
