Hechsher sign at Dunkin Donuts on Chambersbridge Rd. can be misleading

Consumers should take note about an OK Kosher sign hanging inside the Dunkin Donuts on Chambersbridge Road.

The sign indicates a Hechsher regarding a particular product, and is not a general Hechsher for all their products.

All other items require independent Heschsherim.

  1. for starters, it is expired.
secondly, there is not enuf info for any1 who truly cares abt kashrus to buy from there– what abt all the other products in the store? what abt utensils?
is there treif meat in the store as well?
I eat chalav stam but would not be a fool to trust a sign abt a single item and simply eat from there!

  2. @Lkwd mom

Of all things to complain about being posted, why does this bother you exactly?

If it helped 1 person it was worth it, and if it helped no one, it at least taught us to be more aware.

  3. If it’s expired, does it not behoove the OK, to remove the sign?
I find that hechsherim in general are lax in removing signs that are no longer valid, etc….

  4. Another problem not mentioned: while the product may be Kosher, I don’t see anything indicating that the store has a hechsher to cook and serve the product. I very seriously doubt they have a separate skillet or warmer only for these kosher sausages, that there is anyone providing hashgacha on the premises or that they keep all their other keilim completely separate from this one product.

  5. Once we are pointing out issues with hecsherim, the pre-packeged sandwiches in 7-11 that have a hecsher, are not sealed. There is a sticker on the sandwiches, but the sandwiches can be opened without impacting the sticker/seal. (this was not always the case).
