The Holiday season will be brighter for dozens of children throughout Lakewood and beyond, thanks to a generous donation from Lakewood-based BMI Traders.
Upon hearing about the Lakewood PBA Local 71 Holiday Toy Drive, the BMI Traders called Special Events Coordinator Ben Inzelbuch to say they wanted to be a part of the special event.
And they delivered – in a big way, donating approximately $12,000 worth of toys.
Today, officers from the PBA Local 71, lead by Mike Zwick and State Liaison Sean Ward, went down to the company’s headquarters to pick up the pallets of gifts. The truck was sponsored by Lucky Truck Rental.
But due to the overwhelming amount of gifts, the local PBA will be passing on the Holiday cheers to some other children, by donating the extra toys to other local PBAs, including the State PBA.
“It’s really beautiful to see how everyone comes together to bring smiles to children’s faces and cheer up their Holiday season,” says Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer.
The toys will be distributed ahead of the holiday by volunteers of the PBA later this month.
“When we show up at the door, their excitement says it all,” says coordinator Ben Inzelbuch. “It makes all the efforts worth it.”
