After TLS ran a story on Wednesday showing former Jackson Planning Board member and current Jackson GOP club member making disgraceful statements comparing a sitting Councilman to Hitler, sources have made me aware that the Jackson GOP club seems to be run by a woman who is no friend of the Jews herself.

Screenshots shared with TLS show that Clara Glory, the chairwoman of the Jackson GOP, apparently agreed with and defended anti-Semitic accusations hurled at Jewish residents of Jackson.

In a Facebook post, a Greg McClain wrote of Jews “They are all crooks and should be deported they serve no good interest to America. People better start waking up before it’s too late.” That post was followed by one by an Anthony Monte who said that “There [sic] a cult”. When one commenter wrote that people shouldn’t stereotype and that every group of people will have some bad apples, Clara Glory responded, writing “NO STEREOTYPING HERE.. FACTS ARE FACTS… THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT JACKSON RESIDENTS FEAR. AND YES IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING.”

A Jewish resident of Jackson, upon being shown the screenshots, said that his primary concern was about the Ocean County GOP. “Why aren’t they calling for her resignation?” he asked. “We know all about Clara Glory. She hates us. But why would the larger Republican party of Ocean County allow her to continue leading the Jackson Republican Club?”

Republicans in Ocean County have been taking our vote for granted for years. They can kiss my vote goodbye until they install leaders who aren’t racist and bigoted.

This could be a major test for Frank Holman, the Ocean County GOP boss. Holman has the duty to ensure that the GOP is accepting of everyone and all religions. He’s got to step up and take action.

With political leadership like this, it’s no wonder that Mike Reina and Barry Calogero seem interested in going backwards and not bringing the town together.
