  • BubbyJackson says:

Thank you Dr. Roberts for penning this letter. I doubt a response will be forthcoming from the Mayor, but at least you have the clout to get this subject aired in the outside media. Frankly, having monitored this lawsuit for the past 2 years (!), I’m still surprised that the AG has not yet chimed in on the matter. Waiting patiently for the day the Jackson frum residents can daven in/build their shul without legal retribution.

After what Rein did to a good attorney from TR and embarrassed him publicly we can safely assume he wont repent ..his colors are obvious

  • Kol Tuv says:

Beautifully Written. Dr. Rich, everyone appreciates you standing up for what is right and just.
    Thank You!

  • LkwdGuy says:

I would be surprised if Reina even read the letter.
Corrupt people don’t care to read about what others think of them or their actions.
Awareness is not the thing missing here.
He very well know what he’s up against and what wrongs he has committed.
    No need for a reminder.
The AG just needs to do his job now.

He doesn’t care about Jackson being sued. They knew all along this stuff couldn’t stand when challenged in court. He just did it to get the support of Jackson Strong.

He’s not responding because he realizes it’s just a matter of time before the AG gets him personally.

  • Mordechai says:

While nobody can doubt Dr. Robert’s good intentions, this isn’t a good idea. The AG is going to get there, it’s a matter of time. Back door shtadlanus may help however, hisgarus b’umos isn’t advised. This generally doesn’t lead to good places.

    Dr.Roberts, Kol Hakavod!
The letter, that you penned, really spelled it all.
It’s time to stop anti Semitism.
May you continue to help our community.
May Hashem bless you for all the work, and charity that you give.

There were a few more items that didn’t make it to the list.
    1. Using Jackson Police force to Blitz Ticket Jewish areas and place Police in strategically Jewish spots
(this has since these lawsuits stopped)
    2. Use the zoning inspection as a tool to make life difficult for Jews intending on moving in or doing any sort of work.
    3. Using local newspapers as a tool to stir up antiJewish sentiment amongst Jackson Citizens
When I first moved into Jackson, The Jackson was reporting any anti Jewish article or letter that they could find to stir up local anger
    Ditto for the APP
I’m sure if u work a bit you can find that this was a concerted effort organized in conjunction with the township.

Jackson Township and its officials must understand that we all live in the United States, where all citizens–no matter how they dress, educate their children, shop, or worship, and no matter which language they use to talk to one another or what kinds of foods they eat or don’t eat–are entitled to the same respect and the same protection under the Constitution as everyone else. Make no mistake, some non-Jews and even some secular Jews may believe that because, in this case, the victims are Orthodox, Torah-believing Jews, the behavior of the Jackson Township officials doesn’t affect them. They are wrong. The Jewish community often stands as the “canary in the coal mine,” the group that is victimized first before the rest of the country falls prey to the same bullies. In the case of the situation in Jackson, the Orthodox-Jewish community is the “canary in the coal mine” for every other Jew, whether or not he or she covers his or her head, eats only kosher food, or observes the Sabbath. The situation in Jackson is one every American must be aware of and work to correct.
