All kinds of levels and all kinds of positions- from entry level to high-end managerial. PCS, a non-profit division of Agudath Israel, offers this free service to employers and employees.

How do you help the job seekers?

Instead of responding to every help wanted ad, job seekers are able to come to one source with a large data base. I try to match the best job to fit the job seekers’ skills, availability and salary requirements. I also serve as a sounding board, allowing people to hear themselves speak; I then offer constructive guidance. Some people come in looking for one type of job; but then I help them realize that they really want something else.

I help job seekers focus on the skills that they bring to the table, and what they enjoy doing. That’s how I work on helping them find suitable employment.

Why do employers reach out to PCS?

The candidates sent to employers through PCS stand out more because PCS does the initial filter, sending them potential candidates that are a good fit, candidates that meet their requirements. This eliminates the time consuming task of filtering through countless resumes, saving them time and money.

Please share some tips for job seekers?

Presentation is key. In order to get to second base, you have to cover first base. Even if you are smart and skilled, you need to present yourself with confidence, show what you bring to the table. You also want to show that you are very interested in the position.
