Food Crisis Update: 4 Days left; $500,00 Short

[COMMUNICATED] Tomchei Shabbos Needs Your Help Now

With just over a week until Pesach, Lakewood’s families are feverishly preparing for Yom Tov at home. The pantry and freezers must be stocked for Pesach by the end of this week.

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus crisis, over 1,600 local families cannot afford to purchase food now. They are waiting for Tomchei Shabbos’s delivery before they can begin cooking and preparing.

Only 5 days are left until every delivery must be out – but Tomchei Shabbos is short $500,000 to pay for them!

Ever since the Coronavirus crisis – rampant illness, layoffs, business downturns R”l – hit Lakewood hard, Tomchei Shabbos has been adding approximately 50 new families a day to their Pesach distribution. Food prices have risen. And many large longtime donors have fallen upon hard times.

But we cannot abandon these families. Every family in need deserves to have food for Yom Tov!

Please do whatever you can – even more than you think you can – to make sure that every delivery can make it out in time, before we all proclaim at our own Seder tables “kol dichfin yeisei v’yeichol.”

In the zechus of stocking the pantries of your neighbors in crisis, may Hashem protect you and your family during these turbulent times. May you and all of Klal Yisroel enjoy a Chag Kosher V’Sameach!
