  1. Talmud chochom atzum and master mechaneich. He knew mesechta kidushin bal peh! And had a real old school dry sense of humor. I’m heartbroken

So Heartbroken for the Gordon Misphacha and for the entire Klal Yisroel.

Reb Avrohom Eliezer was a beloved Rebbe in Beis Dovid in Monsey for many many years.

He knew how to get to each bochur to reach his potential. As the previous poster stated: He was a “master mechaneich” Those that were zoiche to be in his shiur, as I have, will remember that besides for the Torah that he instilled in us, Reb Avrohom emphasized to us young bochurim Yiras Shomayim as well. He always emphasized the importance of both. When we disappointed him, he underscored how Yira must be koidem lchochma.

We were very young, and we had a Seder in Mesilas Yesharim. Although Rav Gordon was a geshmake Rebbe with a great sense of humor, he always showed us how it is possible to obtain the proper balance.

Even though we were physically in a Cheder building with very young children, Reb Avrohom treated us as mature bochurim and expected that we grow up! Due to his geshmakeit, we did not want to disappoint.

This geferliche machlah is terrible on so many levels. So many chashuveh korbanos lo aleinu. It is really hard to digest!

I am heartbroken that we can’t even give Reb Avrohom proper Kovod achron!

May the Rebono Shel Olam give the mishpacha and all the other mispachos the strength to withstand this umglick. So so many people are struggling. It’s heart-rendering!

May we not hear any more tragedies and may we finally be נגאל this chodesh Nissan.
    במהרה.

  3. Dear Zaidy, Our pain knows no bounds! We are heartbroken-thinking of you all alone in a hospital when you have all your children living right near you and close to 100 granchildren-and yet even as we tried everyway to get into the hospital to see you we weren’t allowed!! When I spoke to you last Thursday you Were beside yourself that know one was there to help you put on Tefillon . . As Uncle Menachem said you were our families respirator-you kept us alive! You were such a choshuva person yet so levelheaded !! From near and far old and young you were everyone’s best friend! Your sense of humor and contagious simchas hachaim could make the gloomiest days happy!! -Hashem- we davened -gave tzedakah-learned , hours of tehillim and yet your answer was no and we accept-please Hashem, this should be it -the last korban!! Please send the ultimate Geula Bimhaira viyamanu amen!!

  4. Rabbi Gordon A”H was unique in many ways. He spoke his heart and mind and did not shy away from the truth. In class all he wanted was that each and everyone of us should want to learn. His old school style of chinuch was why he succeeded in making that happen. He was careful in how to say certain things in class that only those who needed to, knew what he meant. The others thought he was just mumbling. He had a fun way with words too. Above all, he was a ba’al bitachon and true anav. Chaval al devadin. Yehei zichro boruch.
