CHASDEI HASHEM: Few Coronavirus-related calls to Hatzolah of Central Jersey (Lakewood) over Shabbos, Motzei Shabbos; Keep the social distancing

Here’s finally some good news: There were few coronavirus-related Hatzolah calls over Shabbos and Motzei Shabbos (so far).

Last week, there were approximately 80 calls Motzei Shabbos, most of them Covid-19 related, as well as many hospital transports.

This week, B”H, there were reportedly only about 20 Covid-19-related calls between Shabbos and Motzei Shabbos, and only four transports.

Many more local residents have B”H also returned from hospital, healed from the virus.

Let’s continue keeping social distancing rules to help Flatten The Curve.

    • What do you mean to say, aren’t you happy less issues?! (Now it may be a man-made virus leaked out of a lab – and maybe leaked on purpose – in order to get everyone to get a new vaccine. But at least less going to hospitals…)

  1. We must give tremendous thanks to hashem. We also must keep super strong to the excellent job we are all doing with social distancing. If we get lax chas v Shalom it can spread.

  2. Please do not take this as a reason to relax social distancing rules. To the contrary, those are helping us save lives. Please keep fully to the rules and go above and beyond – we are battling nonstop to save lives and protect the Kehilla and your part in it is essential – pls stay home over Yomtov. If you must go shopping observe social distancing rules. I observed Friday at a large local supermarket people lined up outside and not maintaining safe distance – let us be super careful.

And please don’t congregate in the streets and don’t go to the parks, your efforts are saving lives.

  3. just the way this mageifa happened k’heref ayin, i am waiting to wake up one morning and hear that there were no new cases over night. please, everyone, listen to our rabonim. they are begging us to behave in a certain way. their pleas are not made lightly

  4. Hashem sees our tefillos and tremendous Chesed to one another! Lets hope the yeshuah is coming! Also more people are becoming aware that people can be saved from going to the hospital if they CHECK THEIR OXYGEN LEVELS and vitals frequently even of their breathing looks fine. Very often YOU CAN NOT TELL if someone’s oxygen is low just by looking at them. This can easily be done using a pulse oximeter that you can get from Bikur Cholim or calling Hatzolah. IF the breathing is poor, they could get an oxygen concentrator to use at home. I also know that many people are being helped by Hydroxychloroquine (I personally know of 2 people who got much better) despite all the bad press it is getting. IT IS SAVING LIVES!!! Dr. Rosy Joseph is Passaic is prescribing it to her patients and took it herself. The main issue is the risk to the heart so it must be done with a good doctor’s guidance. May we only hear good new from now on!!!

  5. Like R’ Aron Shlita wrote; lets realize that this is the result of Chasdei Hashem and of us doing His will by doing the required social distancing which our gedolim told us is an absolute chiyuv of pikuach nefesh. Lets not be lax in our obligation even now that the weather will be getting nicer and it will be more difficult to remain distant. We need to redouble our efforts and not c”v become lax. We need to also daven that Hashem should have mercy on us and He should totally remove the מכת המגיפה and that all the cholim should have a refua shlaima bkorov.

  6. NY TIMES has a new article on the dosage of the virus. It’s more lethal in higher doses to people that are more exposed. This fact is very very important. Even if you have virus take care to wash yourself often, a little up your nose, get it off of you as much as possible and do NOT expose yourself just because you have it/had it. And take care of our doctors and volunteers. They need masks the most

  7. Just a correction – there were 4 transports, not one.
That means 4 more Kehilla members in ICU.

There were 29 calls for Coronavirus aid.

There are a few more struggling right now and getting checked out, including one who is on chemo and started running high fever on Shabbos and developed bad cough. He was exposed by a family member unwittingly.

Things can turn the corner, but PLEASE keep the vigilance up.

When you are shopping maintain social distancing – i noticed Friday many people not doing that.

Think ahead to your post Pesach shopping – you won’t be able to make the usual geshmake supermarket and pizza run – the Rabbonim are matir to sell Chometz Gomur if need be.

    Thank you,

  8. Let’s hope for only Bsuros Tovos from now on.
A relative of mine who did a lot of research on Corona shared the following:
It is VERY, VERY important to check the oxygen levels of anyone sick from corona. EVEN if they do not show any difficulty breathing. This is especially the case if they have been sick for a few days. This can be done by a medical professional or very simply at home with a small machine called a pulse-ox which can be obtained from a pharmacy or Bikur Cholim. Some things that people have found helpful are: Zinc, Vitamin C, Garlic, Lemon, Hot drinks, plenty of rest, Zpack (Azithromycin), Hydroxychloroquine (ideally one should have an EKG done before starting this medication). (Always contact a medical professional for advice before starting any natural remedy or medicine.)

  9. where can I get face the surgical type face masks ? all the pharmacies seem to be sold out. Does anyone know? Please advise.
    Thanks
