Verizon Booster Removed from Clifton Avenue in Lakewood After Complaints

A Verizon service booster placed by Verizon in a parking lot near the corner of 9th Street and Lexington Avenue has been removed due to complaints.

The booster was put into operation on March 26th after social distancing measures caused a massive spike in cellphone usage in Lakewood which adversely affected coverage.

A Verizon sales representative told TLS that the move was initiated after local residents “protested” against the cellphone booster.

In the interim, the tower has been placed at another location in Lakewood.

TLS has reached out to Verizon executives for comment.

  1. Is that a sarcastic comment? Or youre completely naive/ uneducated? Google cell tower radiation. Especially mobile. That was some nerve to even attempt to put up a cell tower without any resident discussion directly in a residential neighborhood.

    • You are obviously ignorant of the facts. If you use a cell phone, you are receiving 100s times more “radiation” than that tower would ever expose you to.

  2. I did google it and found this from the American Cancer Society
That the exposure from a cell tower is typically many times lower then from a cell phone.
Would love to copy and paste a link and some quotes but no copy and paste allowed here
