Agudath Israel Files Emergency Injunction Against Jackson Township

Agudath Israel of America filed for an injunction against Jackson Township’s ordinances blocking religious schools and dormitories from operating in the town, as well as against the township’s ordinance which bans eruvs.

The injunction request states that Jackson Township’s made a ridiculous attempt at justifying the ordinances by saying that the ordinances were upheld in a state court ruling which occurred three years before the ordinances were even implemented. The judgment Jackson Township referred to was one in which a land-use variance was at question, whereas the court “did not pass judgment on the ordinances adopted by the Township of Jackson in 2017 banning schools, dormitories, and eruvs,” according to the letter given to Judge Marlene Lynch Ford by Agudah legal representatives.

The emergency injunction request was put on hold due to Covid-19, but with courts reopening, the injunction is now being considered again.

The request for an injunction also mentioned the Department of Justice’s lawsuit against the township, which challenges the same schools and dormitories ordinances at issue in the Agudah lawsuit.

  1. It’s time to sue Jackson’s leaders personally for malicious hate and intentional discrimination. Township insurance will not cover that.

  2. Why is Agauda fighting for Jackson now, the way it looks, the Governor is not allowing Yeshivas to open until there is a vaccine.

Maybe Agauda, should first file a federal law suit against the government to open schools churches mosques and businesses…
    We need that ASAP.
AGAUDA, STOP PLAYING NICE WITH THE STATE, ITS ENOUGH ALREADY, WE HAVE TO FIGHT IT IN COURT!!!!
