BREAKING: Governor Murphy Sued Over “Unconstitutional” Executive Order

The NJ GOP joined forces with a small group of business owners and filed a lawsuit against Governor Phil Murphy and his administration, claiming that the governor has created “arbitrary and capricious classes of employers and employees” and “enacting and enforcing unconstitutional executive orders that deny millions of New Jerseyans equal protection under the law.”

“Governor Murphy has irreparably harmed New Jersey small businesses by arbitrarily declaring some essential and others non-essential,” said NJGOP Chairman Steinhardt. “While mom and pop barbers, bars, brew pubs and retail shops are shuttered and struggling, big box stores, with big cash cushions, survive. Governor Murphy has callously covered his ears, closed his eyes, and ignored New Jersey’s cries for honest answers to real problems. The Covid crisis has created challenges for governments everywhere, but forty-nine other states are making progress, while New Jersey flounders. Governor Murphy could be guided by science, but instead hides behind it.”

Steinhardt adds, “The Bill of Rights may be above Phil Murphy’s pay grade, but it’s not above ours. Our interventions may not matter to him, but they matter us. This lawsuit lets Plaintiffs plead their case to the Courts, since the Governor made clear that if you disagree with him you should move to another State.

“While good fortune may insulate Governor Murphy from the economic side effects of his bad judgment, New Jersey’s small businesses owners and 1.1 million unemployed are less lucky. Worse yet, they’ll be paying the price for the Governor’s poor judgment and fiscal mismanagement long after he’s gone, come November 2021. Maybe by the time he’s applying for New Jersey unemployment, the system will be up and running.”

  1. Have no fear fellow new jerseyans
just watch how quickly things are about to start changing
    just watch
this was all that was needed a little bit of heat
till now he was cruising much to comfortably
watch it change very quickly now

  2. i’m happy to hear this, gathering 11 people with social distancing outdoors for religious services is banned (never mind the constitution), but beaches where people gather by the hundreds, and who knows how much social distancing really goes on there, its about time that Rabbonim with info from frum doctors make the decisions, instead of this this clown murphy who has protocols in place that caused more people in the hospitals to die than could have

  3. It’s about time someone stood up to the governor.
    Enough is enough.
Even now, I hope it’s not too late.
The fact that he let’s Target, Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, etc, but not other stores makes no sense. If we can stay clean at Target and Lowes, we can stay clean at The Suit Shoppe. And we can social distance there, as well.
    And I NEED a suit.
    Its essential !!

  4. What took so long?! I was waiting for someone to sue a month ago when it was obvious what this governor was all about. This guy does not care about a person in the state only cares about is his attention! He’s loving every minute of it and it’s costing us too much!

  5. We need more people in New Jersey who will do what they want, provided that it makes sense of course, and stand up to government overreach. What has gone on is insane. People could see straight through it, if they only open their eyes.

  6. Thank you, Doug and special thanks to our own Ocean County
Committeeman Mayor Tom Kelaher and Committeewoman Ginny Haines.
This needs to go to Federal Court, not just the State. BTW, Steinhardt is also pushing for Congress to sue Beijing regarding COVID 19.

  7. if we can’t have yeshivas open in new jersey then we should look for a more suitable state to live in. that is what our parents and grandparents would have said. and they were right!
