CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Driver strikes Toms River Police Officer’s Patrol Vehicle

An accident involving a Toms River police officer was caught on video.

At approximately 3:30 PM this afternoon, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 70 and Massachusetts Avenue.

Upon arrival with lights and sirens activated, Officer Frank Moschella in a marked police vehicle entered the intersection in an attempt to block the roadway and protect the drivers and disabled vehicles.

While doing so, a 47-year old driver traveling westbound on Route 70 failed to yield to the emergency vehicle, and struck Officer Moschella’s patrol vehicle, then struck another two vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

This crash is still under investigation.
