Congressman Jeff Van Drew on Monday released the following statement on Gov. Murphy stopping restaurants from reopening:
“This is no longer about safety. This is Governor Murphy forcing businesses to die; businesses that just spent months investing and preparing to open at a time to which he gave his word. The restaurants placed food orders, bought PPE, hired staff back, and started advertising.
How is going to a busy big-box store any safer than a prepared restaurant?
To compare us to other states undermines the pain and the work that went in to keeping us at the diminishing virus levels we are currently at. It does not represent any sense of reality in New Jersey.
I am completely disgusted and my heart aches for the pain these business owners are feeling after their dreams are being smothered by Governor Murphy’s cruel change of mind.”

When we really had pandemic world seemed to be coming to an end! rachmana litzlon we all personally knew several people EACH DAY that were niftar! now although there are ‘spikes’ every day there’s no panic for beds,ventilators, deaths,etc etc. Virtually ALL states with ‘alarming’ spikes and/or states that refuse to reopen are libtard demonrat run like NY/NJ/CA or battleground states which preclude President Trump from holding his magnificent rallies like Arizona,Florida,Michigan,etc. It’s ALL fake news!!
There are two ways that Governments can be sued, and it appears to me that Murphy can be sued.
1. Under certain circumstances, the government cannot claim “sovereign immunity” to escape liability. This applies to Government employees, including the Governor, when they violate clearly established statutory or constitutional rights that a reasonable government employee should know.
2. While acting in the scope of their employment, federal, state, and local officers can be sued for intentionally violating a person’s constitutional rights. The theory of “qualified immunity” requires that an official act in good faith and with due care.
It’s not an easy process. A good lawyer is necessary. The case will certainly take time but the results will not only result in punishment but the defendant will have to also pay any compensation caused by their liability.
