Lakewood resident develops cool product for face masks

A Lakewood resident has developed a cool new product which is helping people bear and wear their face masks throughout the day.

The Disposable Scented strips are affixed to the outside surface of any face mask, by peeling the paper backing and sticking the strip anywhere on the outside of your face mask. The paper is infused with pure essential oils, so you can breathe easier.

“The subtle aroma is not overpowering,” says the developer Shua Eidlitz, “It’s just enough to actually make wearing a mask a pleasure, or at least not as much of a burden!”

Eidlitz says this product is ideal for those who wear masks every day, or prolonged periods of time. Even for new masks, this can help spice up your day.

The paper strips come in various scents to choose from, such as strawberry-melon, orange-vanilla, and lavender-lemon. They can even custom-make the scent that is right for you. Each strip lasts at least two days, Eidlitz says. A pack of four strips runs for $3.99.

  1. many of my friends have stopped wearing masks in local stores, join the movement and leave your masks at home, enough of this non sence! we all had it already, the only ones that should be wearing masks are the perhaps the elderly or immune compromised
some say these masks are causing you a slow death, by cutting down your air flow

      • Which Lancet study are you referring to? The one that claimed to prove that hydroxychloroquin didn’t work? It was proven to be shoddy work, unscientific.

  2. Masks have become a big business. Somebody is advertising 17.000 masks for sale. Corona is on the way out. Have some Bitochon.

  3. Are the oils 100% safe? Considering you’re breathing these directly on a constant basis. And natural is not always necessarily safe.

  4. Alternatively, buy a bottle of essential oil & pour on your mask a drop. It will last forever. I prefer pure air without any scent.

  5. Maskim nobody needs mask but lohz ohp for a yid who wants to make parnassa. Some people do still wear masks and for them this is a good thing to have….

  6. I am sure the smell is mild enough just to sweeten the experience of wearing a mask. But what do you do if you can’t smell, like many ppl post corona.

  7. This month, a study published in the Lancet Medical Journal found people should stay 6 feet apart and wear face coverings. It said the chance of transmission without a face mask was 17.4%, while that fell to 3.1% when a mask was worn. TLS doesn’t let copy and paste, search lancet mask study (June 1 2020). It clarifies everything in very good detail.

    • You can go about life. Just wear a mask when in indoor settings with a potentially higher concentration of infected air. It helps. Outside when taking a walk its way less of an issue, the concentration rate is much lower. Especially if you are only briefly passing by. Just use common sense please. And read the study, if your’e interested.

  8. To all the Leitzonim – who want to make light of this pandemic as if it’s a big money making scam: I’m really a bit shocked that there so many unintelligent people in this community who would take this attitude or follow it. #1 Not only the immunocompromised and elderly got very sick and died, – I have seen people young and healthy who were taken. #2 It is easily spread – so a healthy 18 year old who will likely not get too sick, goes home and spreads it to someone else who could die from it (this is not theoretical it happened – plenty). We hope that Covid-19 is leaving – certainly the numbers are going down in NJ, but they are still going up in 20 US states – and there is plenty of travel. So – masks and distance are still our best way of reducing risk of spread. CDC still recommends them. I only hope that people with common sense will not listen to these self-made experts, and instead follow the guidance of the medical community even if it causes inconvenience – because it might just save some lives.

    • Finally some SENSE! I am shocked and appalled by the responses here!! In Lkwd. (ir hakodesh!) where people consider themselves frum – and there’s a complete LACK of bein adam lechavero and consideration for another’s health! Unbelievably selfish and short-sited. I just hope it’s a bunch of self-centered teenagers who are behind all of these responses, because that’s exactly what it sounds like. Otherwise you are all a bunch of irresponsible, immature fools. If you don’t care about your own health, at least consider the health of those around you and the WHO’s recommendation- that EVERYONE should be wearing masks.

  9. Hey! Say “don’t wear masks” because you don’t care if others get sick or die because of you. Where are your guts?
Don’t make it sound that your position is NORMAL.

  10. Why do people keep saying Everyone got it? Do you seriously live in your own sheltered bubble. Me and my family continuously test negative and I know so many others As observant Jews you need to be concerned for one another’s health and wear a mask even if you are ok and recovered from the virus. You can be a carrier and be spreading germs.

  11. I wear a mask because:
The store (a private business) has a sign telling me to.

If a store can ask people to dress modestly (Williamsburg. Meah shearim) or refuse to bake a cake…
They can ask people to wear a mask.

    Out of respect for others.

Because of employees or other shoppers who feel I am endangering them if I don’t.

    To avoid chillul hash-m.

So I don’t give people a reason to say:
    Bring the guard to Lakewood
or the —s think they are above the law
Or they are the ones spreading it etc.

  12. The reality is the virus is BH not spreading in Lakewood. Just because it’s spreading in other states where the virus didn’t pass through, should not be a reason for us to continue with these face masks. If there is an uptick in cases we can always change requirements. Please don’t quote the Lancet Journal they lost credibility with their fake anti Trump study. Are these scented strips using the same oils which are found in an e-cigarette, that were supposably killing people?

    • You seemingly have first heard of Lancet recently because of something you saw in the news, but I think it’s a pretty safe bet you make daily life decisions based on studies that were published in this journal. (Without your knowledge, of course. I’d put good money on you doing most things ignorantly.)

  13. Unfortunately we can’t trust cdc or the who anymore. They’ve shown themselves to be all political. So even though they recommend masks I believe what I see. I see no one getting sick and I see no one getting it twice. So what I see is that corona is over. If it comes back we’ll worry about it then. This is what happens when all the “medical experts” are corrupt. No one believes them anymore
