I would like to give a big shout-out to officer Caraballo, badge# 298, for going above and beyond his call of duty.

This afternoon, I was walking with my 7-year-old son. He tripped and fell, and while getting up, a car (light blue Volkswagen) passed by, and the passenger stuck his head of his window and began laughing and making fun of my son.

I took down the license plate and called the police to report the harassment.

Officer Caraballo called me back to make the report (due to covid-19, minor reports are done by phone with an officer calling you back). He then asked me where we are, as he wants to drop something off for my son. I refused, and said it wasn’t necessary, but Officer Caraballo insisted he’s coming.

He drove down to us and gave my son a police badge and cheered him up!

Thank you Officer Caraballo and the whole Lakewood Police Department for risking their lives for us and being so caring to everyone in our town.
