does the Rosh Yeshiva have Corona?
Lekayem banu chachmei Yisroel …. klal Yisroel needs him so badly….
Details anyone??
Is his mother’s name Sima or Shima?
Shima
Shima
His mothers name is SIMA. Rav Moshe had a characteristic Litvisher lisp and so pronounced it Shima. But it was what most people would call Sima. Rav Moshe HIMSELF told that to some one I know. (a prominent Rov)
I’ve lived on the East side for 32 years, my mother has lived on the east side for 53 years, and my grandfather came to the east side in 1939…… The name is Shima, and the Feinstein granddaughters/great granddaughters that i know are named SHIMA.
The opposite, a litvish lisp is a sin for a shin as he was known as Reb “maiseh“ ( also the litvish ohy became aie)
Actually, I believe the R”Y ztz”l called her “Sima” — and she called the R”Y “Maiseh”
But his name was Moshe and hers Shima…
SHima.
All granddaughters (and others) named for her are called Shima.
Rav Dovid himself said that his mother’s name was shima but Rav Moshe pronounced it sima as a Litvak would do.
The R”Y does not have corona and is in stable condition B'”h. Got this from a close person
Listen to Rabbi Moshe Snow on Youtube discuss Rav Moshe. Minute 26. Rav Moshe Fienstein said clearly that his wife’s name is SIMA. Of course, he had a Litvish Lisp and pronounced it Shima. But he said it is the same name as SIMA
Case closed
A close family member told me it’s Shima (whose daughter is named aftervher)
A ‘close family member’ does not know more than Rav Moshe himself. See my comment and Youtube of Rabbi Snow
Keep up your teffilos!!
