BREAKING: NJ-4 Congressional Candidate Dies Suddenly

A candidate on the ballot for the Democratic nomination to challenge Rep. Chris Smith in New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District has reportedly died, less than 24 hours after losing to Stephanie Schmid.

David Applefield was reportedly exercising today when he collapsed and died. He was 64.

Applefield, whose mother was a Holocaust survivor, worked for UNESCO and taught at the American University in Paris before opening a small media and publishing company.

  1. Chris Smith is in my opinion the best politician we have. He is pro traditional religious values and very pro Yidden on a personal level as well. What type of guy would be running against him?
