Busing resumes Monday: Be sure to look out for children and flashing lights

Per the Governor’s directive, school busing will resume Monday, July 6.

With busing beginning tomorrow for the first time in approximately three months, we’re reminding drivers to look out for children and pay attention to flashing lights.

On another bright note, the busing will help reduce traffic around town.

  1. can someone explain please why all the boys schools are not starting bussing tomorrow?
I know that some schools are, and as you announced above, the governer now allows the bussing to be running, so why are my boys school saying that it’s not worth the hassle of starting bussing again for only another week and half of school?
I’m spending an average of 2 1/2 hours per day driving my boys to and from school every day.

  2. to curious:
#1 The bus companies are asking for more money then usual. Many parents would not want to pay extra.

#2 Bus routes take time to get used to. chance are there will be new bus drivers to the routes, thereby having long delays in the beginning. By the time the routes settle in, yeshiva will be over. Having bussing for day camps obviously makes sense since its for the rest of the summer. Theres no comparison between the two.

#3 your average of 2 and half hour sounds extreme and seems to be more of the exception then the rule.
