The all-new “Link After Link” Album, Camp Bnei Melochim’s latest masterpiece, utilizes a summer-long card-collecting game to give elementary-aged boys a clear, sweeping picture of the unbroken chain of Torah. The object of the game: to collect all 106 cards showcasing chachomim from 2000 years of Jewish history and paste them in the correct numbered album spots, making sure to take in the album’s rich information on every gadol.

Breathtakingly designed and efficiently organized, the album is divided by historical period (from Tanaim to Achronei Achronim.) It’s also color-coded according to a useful index so players can find their way through the wealth of information at their fingertips. A beautiful map and timeline paint a vivid picture of the shalsheles haTorah’s history, enabling the boys to “touch Har Sinai” by watching our mesorah’s clear progression from Matan Torah until today.

This magnificent album was originally created to augment Camp Bnei Melochim’s Shalsheles HaTorah summer program. In designing their program, CBM leaders were driven by two main goals – to give campers an awareness of the enormity and complexity of the shalsheles haTorah, as well as a sense of awe for the magnificent process through which our chachomim developed halacha. Witnessing the clear, totally faithful transmission of Torah from generation to generation will empower campers to develop a new level of connection to and appreciation for our mesorah – and, consequently, their own limud haTorah! 

Throughout the summer, interactive, hands-on lessons, fun activities, and exciting guest speaker-appearances make up just some of the features that help cement these themes in campers’ minds. At the end of the summer, the Shalsheles HaTorah Grand Chidon serves to show the boys just how much they’ve learnt without noticing. The Chidon, a culmination of the summer-long album challenge, invites 12 winning contestants to use their knowledge of the chachomim in their albums to win the title of “Shalsheles HaTorah Champion.” Boys – not part of Camp Bnei Melochim? No problem. Simply complete your album and study the info inside. The Chidon, open both for participation and viewing to the greater community, will take place at Camp Bnei Melochim (367 Monmouth Ave) on August 20, 2020.
