  1. The man is right about the lack of learning. The funding however is needed to feed the kids meals on top of the meals they’re already getting with food stamps and to give the teachers unions another bunch of months of paid vacation and to buy internet and computers for the kids not to use for schooling. We also need the time to paint murals on the streets and to protest. Mr President, with all due respect, you must become a little more progressive.

  2. All Governors etc. are drunk with power that the emergency has given them. Decisions are paid many times not for the peoples welfare but other Motives…
Time to get things under control

  3. More empty words. Power of the purse belongs to Congress, not the executive branch. How many more court cases does Trump have to lose before he figures that out?

  4. Hey Jake.

I dont know about you.But the school that my daughter attends ,the teachers and staff worked harder than normal to give my daughter the best possible chinuch and education under the circumstances.

  5. From personal knowledge, virtual learning for all grade levels as well as special needs and English language learners has proven totally ineffective and damaging on so many levels for all concerned- from students to families to society as a whole.

Also from personal knowledge, the amount of work and effort all educational staff – from teachers to administrators- have expended over these past few months, and continue to do so in some schools still providing remote learning – has been exhausting and frustrating. To think that these professionals had it “easy”, as many have commented, is not to understand all the preparation, work, and follow-ups needed and executed.

That SCHI, The Center for Education, and the Lakewood District have begun in-person, “real” teaching for their special needs population is truly a show of understanding of the reality of the dire educational situation as well as an example of true bravery, compassion, and dedication to their students and their families.

Once again, we all should be supporting their efforts in any way possible, from positively acknowleding what these schools are accomplishing by being examples of and in the forefront of commonsense.

  6. schools were closed and empty for a very long time, yet they are paying millions for the schools to be disinfected before they open. The virus only lives for aprox 3 days on a surfaces , so why in the world do the schools need to be disinfected before opening day? just more wasting your tax money

  7. To be clear,my diatribes were a about public education funded by the taxpayers at the mercy of the teachers unions, not the private schools were a lot of effort was put in by the majority of our teachers (not all) to continue the growth of their students. Those who used zoom, of course had a much better chance for success.
