Rav Avigdor Miller on Kollel For The Poor

Q: What should we answer those who say that only those whose parents can afford to support them in kollel should stay in a kollel, but those who can’t afford it should go to work?

A: What should we say about those people who claim that only rich people should go to a kollel – only those who could afford it?

It’s not true. The fact is that you find in a kollel very poor couples who have succeeded famously; so you don’t need any better argument than that. Of course, it requires a certain amount of dedication, but there’s no question it can be done. I know a couple in Boro Park that lived in great poverty for years and they succeeded greatly. It’s being done again and again by dedicated couples.

So you don’t need any arguments. The facts argue against it.

    I’m confused.

Wasnt there another q&a from Rav Miller ZT”L right here on lakewood scoop which stated that one should not look into a shidduch into a shidduch for someone who plans on never going to work?

I remember it, because i commented then that it would seem that Rav Miller ZT”L shitta is not shared by many rabbonim in the “yeshiva velt”. But now the Rov seems to be saying that as well?
