  1. What? As far as I’ve noticed, TLS does post pictures of women. All types. This is the internet. I personally think it’s ok if she’s tznius and gave permission to post her pic.

  2. for those who didn’t know Mrs Gutman by name, yet had a significant relationship with her, it was important to post the picture. Many ppl are very appreciative to put. Name to the face.

  3. Who ever objects to to have pictures of women, I think you should do some rethinking. Seeing a picture of someone we can emulate gives us a lot of Chizuk.

Reb Kanievsky, Reb Pam (their Neshomos should have an Aliya), seeing their pictures, remembering who they were leaves a tremendous Hashbaah on us, making us realize that yes, we too can and should
rise to such a lofty Madreiga and strive to do so.

As we all know, visual, seeing something, has a much more powerful impact on one then just reading about them.

  4. The letter writer is correct on the standard once kept, the standard we are meant to hold ourselves to, ideally.
Hashem wants more from us, even when it seems so insignificant and benign.
There’s so much more to be written, on this matter and matters related to this, but we must attempt to preserve the special qualities that a ihr hatorah is grounded upon. This will serve as a zchus for all the inhabitants even the myriad of new ones

    • Wasn’t there recently a picture of the Mir Rebitzen who was Nifter?

I have a question? Those of you who object to these picture, why are you looking at the internet in the first place. The advertisement on the sides, of the articles, I definitely don’t think that they are appropriate for an Ir Hatorah or frankly anyplace.

      Please explain!

      THANK YOU!

      • Sara, you aren’t one to set the standard of a mokom torah in our am hanivchar. The torah manhigim guide us and mortal men have bechira how they will conduct themselves. What is certain however, is that Sara’s standard or questions will not set nor alter or guide the set hanhaga directed to us by the manhigim.

        • No Gadol paskened that newspapers should not have pictures of ladies, it is something newspaper editors do because they are scared of kano’im.

In fact, a certain chassidus published a book about their rebbetzin, with pictures. Someone wrote a letter to the Rebbe of that chassidus asking him about it, and he answers that there is nothing halachically wrong at all

  5. I see nothig wrong with posting a tsniusdik picture of a woman’s face. That way if we knew someone by sight but didn’t know her name, we’d know who she was.

  6. Chaim B:

Sorry to tell you that you too are not the one to criticize or decide what is right or wrong.

I would greatly appreciate you showing us a letter from the Gedolim
saying that you Chaim B are Muter to use the internet.

The bottom line is, that I don’t think anyone one of us has the right to judge or decide what is right or wrong. We should examine our own deeds first.

However, as mentioned earlier there was picture of the Mir Rebitzen, Ztzal, who was a Reb in her own right, and whose picture was on the internet, and yes the Mir have respected Manhigim also!

It seems to me that you have double standards.

The bottom line is that none of us have a right to judge the other one or
or decide what is right or wrong.

However, as pointed out earlier, there was a picture of the the Reb who
was nifter from Mir, and yes they are one of of of Manhigim!
