Authorities this afternoon investigated an alleged bomb threat on a United Airlines plane at Newark Airport, TLS has learned.

According to announcements from the pilot on the LAX-EWR flight, a passenger had allegedly made a comment about a bomb on the plane, prompting a large police response.

Authorities removed the suspect from the plane and then placed all passengers’ luggage on the tarmac, and used a K9 to sniff all bags before releasing them to the passengers.

The passengers were then bused to the terminal.

The incident is under investigation.
