6 years ago, Judith Naftali was a busy mother of 6, the youngest being 3, and the founder and director of an alternative high school for girls at-risk. In addition, she was active in her community, had tremendous Hachnasas Orchim and provided respite care for medically fragile, disabled children There was room in her heart and home for everybody.
All that changed when her troubling symptoms were diagnosed as a chronic, progressive disease, Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, her life has been characterized by chronic pain, medication side effects, medical crises, and loss of many of her abilities. The school closed, the respite care and hachnasas orchim stopped. She could barely take care of herself, much less the children.
