The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Why is route 88 being closed in one direction to allow trucks to cut trees at 8.50 am? Can’t trucks come and do their jobs out of rush hour traffic? I understand it has to be done but there should be rules about when!
The job has to be completed before 8 am or start after 10.30 am when school buses are out of the road and people are already at work.
I’m not sure who can help with that issue so maybe TLS can!
Response from Mayor Coles:
Hi,
Thank you for letting me know about this. We discourage any work like this during morning rush. We try to keep garbage trucks off RT 88 during this time. Our manager spoke to JCP&L and they will not resume this part of the operation until after the holiday & then they will start later in the morning. I have also asked Traffic & Safety to make sure only emergency work gets conducted during these hours.
Thanks
Ray

C’mon Ray, become a Republican already. You’re the only Democrat I love. Yours truly, your fellow dog lover. Sorry I have to remain anonymous, buddy! LOL. Even if you stay a D I will always vote for you.
