Covid-19 Vaccines and Treatments in Development – Updated August 7, 2020

1. “To me this raises some serious..Halachic Issues” Can you please show me one Sh”ut Sefer that brings up such a concern ? (I can show you many that say a Yid is obligated to give appropriate vaccines).
   Besides the fact that I think your information is very misleading. Not a single company or vaccine uses fetal cells in their vaccine, they might use cell LINES that were originally started from fetal tissue. If someone does not understand the huge difference, I would be happy to explain.

2. Well, if you have an alternative idea, why not patent it and put it out there?
   Oh, you don’t have an alternative?
   So the choice is: either “vaccine from fetal who-knows-what” or no vaccine?
   Or is the alternative gefilte fish with chrein?
   If there would be more “normal” ingredients that would work, don’t you think they would make the vaccine out of those?

     The שאילה is what is better, סיני or עוקר הרים, but everyone agrees that being an עם הארץ isn’t cool.
     The fact is that there are “more normal” ingredients. Theresa Deischer from Sound Choice Pharma has been explaining for years the serious harms that fetal cells cause (aside from the “ethical” ones), and how they would be able to simply subsitute it form adult stem cells.

   • Those who have a problem with vaccines prepared their defense already. They are covid deniers, claiming that nobody died of covid 19, rather the hospitals killed them.

     There is no arguing with logic like that. Just pass them a lollipop and hope they move far away

3. You will find all the studies and papers regarding the ingredients of each vaccine posted above.

   If you think no fetal cells are used, there is at least one that uses cells from live organs of aborted babies. Others use “cell lines from humans and animals. Again, you can read the above sources to verify, otherwise, it is your general statement that would be misleading. If you think otherwise, please post your sources as I have done instead of making accusatory statements. You can find some vaccines that use cell lines above but not all of them do.

   The resources are all available above as well as the original paper. I posted this because it contains information generally not known to the public, so you can research this on your own.

   All I’m saying is that perhaps, to me, this raises ethical and halachic issues. Everyone must come to their own conclusion.

   If anyone thinks this is misinformation, please consult the sources listed above.

   • They use fetal cell LINES. These lines are from elective abortions in the 1970’s and 80’s. Please don’t make it sound like they are killing fetuses to produce the vaccine.

     • The writer included all his sources and your generalization is lacking in detail. Please list your sources. I am not arguing with you, in fact, I don’t find your comment contradictory. Having said that, what is the difference between an “elective abortion” and killing a fetus, today or 30 or 40 years ago?

4. I remember the great tzadik, Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel refused to take any medicines even with an advanced parkinson’s disease. He didn’t want any ingredient to interfere with his torah learning. He told me that personally. He explained to me about ‘timtum halev’ and said it would take a long time to get the animal blood out of the soul and body. So he refused all medicines with ingredients from animals, humans and insects. He specifically refused to take a natural medicine made from the blood of the tarantula that could help stop the tremors of Parkinsonism. That’s how important it was to him. I know this because He explained this to me personally.

   It would be worthy for frum Jews to find out the truth about the ingredients in the vaccine. They are presently using insect bloods, (caterpillar) , animal bloods , human aborted diploid fetal cell bloods, and all this at Dr. Fauci’s request to find a cheaper and easier way to mass produce a vaccine without the use of chic embryos which are harder to amass in great numbers.

   I am sorry I will have to pass on the vaccine unless they make the ingredients more to guidelines of Torah kashrus. I understand in England they are even producing MMR vaccines, with only chic embryos to be given to the frum community in Israel. It was administered this way to my grandson who has a genetic disease.

   May all of klal Yisrael and the whole world have an immediate and Divine healing from HaShem from this Mageifah.

   • As long as you don’t eat the vaccine there is no kashrus or timtum halev issue whatsoever.

6. I hope and pray that vaccines won’t become mandatory. I do not want any vaccine. I’d rather try and keep myself healthy in a natural way.

9. I’m pleasantly surprised at the Lakewood scoop for actually posting something “anti-vaxx”! Before Covid you never would have posted this.

   Did you know that these ingredients have been in there standard vaccines we’ve always given our kids? Nothing actually changed here. Except that the world is FINALLY waking up to the fact that we can’t blindly trust the establishment (CDC, pharmaceutical companies, Government, Media ect) when it comes to our health.

   (By way I do vaccinate my kids, but slowly and cautiously)

And those who do not want to can line up to get this vaccine – and they can give it to their children even though it has not been tested in anyone under age 18.
