Over 2 Million Votes Already Cast In New Jersey

More than 2 million New Jersey voters – 51% of the total voters in 2016 – have already cast their ballots in the upcoming election.

Governor Phil Murphy announced in August that the elections being held this year would be held nearly exclusively by mail-in ballot, and New Jersey voters have jumped at the chance of getting their ballots in early.

According to the Election Project, which tracks mail-in votes across the United States, but whose numbers are slightly behind official state numbers, nearly 1 million of New Jersey’s Democratic voters have already sent in their ballots, while less than 500,000 Republicans have done so.

Over 40 million votes have already been cast in the United States as a whole.

Even with a massive surge in mail-in ballots having been expected for months, many voters are still confused as to how they should vote and whether they can vote in person on Election Day. See our clarifier to make the best decision for yourself.
