Petirah of Harav Yaakov Busel ZT”L, Rosh Yeshivah Edison [UPDATED]

We regret to inform you of the petirah of Harav Yaakov Busel, the Rosh Yeshiva of Edison Yeshiva.

R’ Yaakov, who ran the yeshiva along with R’ Yosef Eichenstein, was a preeminent talmid chochom, beloved by generations of talmidim who sought his guidance and advice. Despite much suffering, including losing his first wife – the daughter of R’ Boruch Sorotzkin of Telz Cleveland – R’ Yaakov never wavered in his duties as a rosh yeshiva and oved Hashem.

R’ Yaakov had been hospitalized with coronavirus over the last few months, over which a name – Chaim – was added.

He is survived by his wife, Rebbetzin Esther Busel, and his children and grandchildren.

The levaya will tentatively take place at 3 PM at Edison Yeshiva, 1 Plainfield Avenue. The levaya is expected to take about 3 hours, with levayas hameis at approximately 6 PM. Attendees are requested to wear masks and use social distancing throughout the duration of the levaya.

You can listen to the Levaya by calling 732-839-3003, Conference ID: 7763828466#
