Barr: No Evidence Of Fraud To Overturn Election – US Attorney General Bill Barr told reporters this week that the Justice Department has not uncovered any evidence of widespread voter fraud in the November 3rd presidential election that would overturn the results. There have been dozens of allegations of misdoings from President Trump’s legal team and Republicans across the country, but Barr says that, as of now, those allegations have either been debunked or were too small in nature to have any consequential impact on the election result. One of President Trump’s election lawyers, Jenna Ellis, called Barr’s comments “bizarre,” saying that he clearly has not yet seen the evidence that they are in possession of. Following the comments, President Trump declined to say whether he still had confidence in the attorney general, telling reporters that they should ask him again in “a number of weeks.”

Trump Threatens To Veto Defense Bill – President Trump is warning that he will veto a crucial defense bill unless it ends protections for internet companies that safeguard them from being liable for content posted by their users. Trump took aim at Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act, which protects companies from being sued by anyone who gets upset over something one of their user’s post, saying that it must be repealed as a matter of national security. “Therefore, if the very dangerous & unfair Section 230 is not completely terminated as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), I will be forced to unequivocally VETO the Bill,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Former President To Take Vaccine On Camera – With a coronavirus vaccine expected to begin being distributed across the United States before the end of the month, former presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton say they are willing to get vaccinated on camera to show that they are confident in the vaccine and the science behind it. Their statements come as millions of Americans are hesitant to take the vaccine out of concern that not enough is known about its side effects and that it was rushed through without proper safety trials. Health officials say that a broad swath of the American public will need to be vaccinated before the pandemic is brought to a halt and normal life can resume.

Biden To Ask Americans To Wear Masks For 100 Days – As part of his effort to stop the exponentially-growing spread of COVID-19 in the United States, president-elect Joe Biden says he will request Americans to wear a mask everywhere they go for the first 100 days of his presidency. It is Biden’s hope that people will follow his advice and that a commitment to wearing masks for 100 days will help keep hospitalizations down until millions of vaccines can be administered across the United States. CDC Director Robert Redfield said this week that this winter may end up being the “darkest period in American health history” with hospitals and healthcare systems overwhelmed by an uncontrollable surge of coronavirus patients.

White House Communications Director Resigns – President Trump’s Director of Communications, Allysah Farah, has resigned from her position, becoming the highest-ranking member of the administration to depart in the aftermath of the November 3rd election. Farah first joined the Trump administration in 2017 as Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary. Farah heaped praise on President Trump in her letter of resignation, touting his accomplishments domestically and on the world stage. “I am deeply proud of the incredible things we were able to accomplish to make our country stronger, safer, and more secure,” Farah said. “Under this Administration, the ISIS caliphate was destroyed, American hostages were returned home, NATO is stronger than ever, we’ve brokered historic Middle East peace deals, and I was on the ground in Kabul for the announcement of a historic peace deal between the Afghan Government and the Taliban aimed at ending America’s longest war. We delivered historic tax cuts, putting money back into the pockets of hard-working Americans. We rebuilt the judiciary with Constitution-abiding independent jurists and we worked to create the most inclusive economy in American history – that gives every citizen a real chance to achieve the American dream.
