Dozens of motorists around Lakewood report damaged tires due to potholes

TLS has been inundated with messages the past few days about many potholes developing around town.

Potholes particularly develop in the winter season due to the roads contracting and cracking, allowing water to seep in.

Today alone, there were dozens of reports of damaged tires around Lakewood due to the potholes.

List the potholes around town you feel need immediate attention.

  1. Yes. I got 2 in the last week. Is there anything to do about it? There are some shopping plazas that have real issues too.. Gourmet Glatt plaza has tons but they aren’t so deep. Shloimy’s plaza has almost a sinkhole BE CAREFUL!

  2. THE WORST ROAD IN LAKEWOOD IS PAWNEE ROAD. PERIOD. FULL STOP. AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN REPAVED DESPITE THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. ITS LIKE DRIVING ON THE MOON WITHOUT A ROVER. IT’S AN OBSTACLE COURSE, EVEN SCARY TO WALK ON! SOME HOLES MORE THAN A FOOT DEEP. MAYBE WE NEED MORE TAXES.

  3. Crazyy !! I just had my tire blow out due to a ditch that is to the entrance of wallgreens route 9 /Toms River. And thanks to Chaverim coming out late night!!
Since then I’ve seen thousands of crazy big ditches all around Lakewood! This has to been seen into. When we try to avoid ditches it can cause accidents too!

  4. On Carey Street between Forest and Madison.

This is a block where Yeshiva is and there are many many cars driving there daily. There is a HUGE, DEEP pot hole on the block closer to Madison.

  5. Locust between Vermont and New Hampshire.
The corner of Locust and Vermont was redone, the sewer sits half a foot above the ground. when it rains/snows the intersection floods for days.

  6. By linden/ ocean Ave horrible horrible I get so upset every day. One day it’s fixed the next day it rains and it’s already ruined. Utterly ridiculous. You gotta change this

  7. WASHINGTON between pine st and spruce is terrible . We need paving not just patches. Where are the tens of millions of dollars of property taxes going from all the new houses and shopping centers coming online every year ?

  8. We need the streets to be paved properly and not just patched with sub-par materials that disintegrate every time the weather changes. Unfortunately that’s the reality we live in here in Lakewood. Drive real slow through puddles because you can’t see what’s underneath the water. You’ll have a much better chance of not damaging your vehicle.

  9. just keep emptying those trucks of liquid brine salt al day and night like the township has done since chanuka, is anyone surprised that south lake has pot holes already?? they just paved it brand new 2 months ago!!
