FDA Approves Third Coronavirus Vaccine

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) a short time ago gave the green light to Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine, giving a major boost to the vaccine supply in the US

J&J’s vaccine works very well in protecting against severe coronavirus infections, but is less effective than Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccines in preventing any infection.

On the plus side, unlike the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which need to be stored at supercool temperatures, Johnson & Johnson’s vaccines can be stored for months in regular refrigerators. Additionally, Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine only requires one dose, whereas the other available vaccines require two doses.

Governor Murphy said New Jersey is expected to receive an initial shipment of 70,000 J&J vaccines next week.

  1. please note that fda did not approve the vaccine but rather issued an EUA. see fda.gov for details. This article is misleading. Please adjust the wording

  2. Correct about the EUA. All the covid vaccines are under EUA and are still undergoing trials (you, Israel?) to see how they play out in real life
