Governor Murphy Increases Capacity Limit on Shuls, Other Houses of Worship

Governor Murphy announced at his daily press conference that, effective immediately, shuls and other houses of worship and religious services can operate at 50% capacity.

The governor is still requiring that masks be worn during services and that members of different households maintain a distance of six feet each other.

Additionally, Governor Murphy announced that also effective immediately, indoor and outdoor collegiate sports practices and competitions may allow two parents or guardians per participating athlete as spectators. The attendance cannot exceed 35% of the indoor room’s capacity and social distancing must be maintained at all times.

Also, beginning March 1st, sports and entertainment venues with a fixed-seating capacity of over 5,000 people can open for spectators, with 10% capacity for indoor venues and 15% capacity for outdoor venues.
