Congressman Smith on APP’s racist photo caption: Author of these horrific and unacceptable comments needs to be held accountable

Congressman Chris Smith this evening released the following statement in response to the racist APP photo caption:

“It was shocking—and out of character—for the Asbury Park Press to post a highly offensive photo caption that was both demeaning to women and anti-Semitic. The dedicated Jewish health care professional photographed working on the front lines giving COVID vaccinations to members of her community should have been praised and respected—not used to express the writer’s contempt for women. The Asbury Park Press’ apology was a good beginning but the author of these horrific and unacceptable comments needs to be held accountable.”

  1. I am in total disbelief Anyone could use such a disgusting language against anyone especially a hero nurse.
I hope the APP launches an internal investigation to find out who wrote it.
Where I work, there is a policy of” zero tolerance “ For foul language, and especially for insults against any human or community. I hope we get some answers and actions from the APP.
