Over 1,500 families – and counting – got their food. Thank you Tomchei Shabbos!

[COMMUNICATED] Although it happens year after year, there is no overestimating the scale of chessed and Kiddush Hashem that is Tomchei Shabbos’s Pesach food distribution.

Over 100 unpaid volunteers devoted their time over two days last week to make sure that Kol Dichfin, every family in need, has all the food they need to enjoy Yom Tov. Over 1,500 families from every neighborhood in Lakewood, Jackson and Toms River received a massive food shipment – average 18 boxes per family! – with matzah, wine, chicken, meat, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, snacks, paper goods and literally everything they will eat over Yom Tov and Chol Hamoed.

Despite the massive scale – over 25,000 boxes; with a retail value of over $1.5 million – the distribution was organized and efficient. Tremendous sensitivity was shown towards the dignity of recipient families, who span the gamut of our community’s diverse demographics.  [TO HELP CLICK HERE]

The distribution continues as you read these lines and will iy”H continue through the coming days.

“On behalf of thousands of precious fathers, mothers and children – our relatives, friends and neighbors – Tomchei Shabbos would like to thank our dedicated volunteers and, of course, every donor for enabling this year’s distribution,” says Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok Trainer, Director of Development. “In this zechus, may Hashem bentch everyone who helped – and all of Klal Yisroel – with a Chag Kosher V’sameach
