Effective today, all New Jersey residents over the age of 16 are eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine, following an announcement from Governor Murphy earlier this month in which he said that the state is ahead of schedule with vaccinations. This remains true despite the Johnson & Johnson vaccine having been halted and currently under review by regulators over potential blood-clotting issues.

“With increasing supply of vaccine from the federal government, New Jersey has been ramping up the pace of doses administered and adding points of dispensing across the state, allowing us to extend eligibility to all adults sooner than expected,” New Jersey Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli said. “The Department [of Health] encourages residents to get vaccinated as soon as they have the opportunity.”

Over 50% of American adults have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, and infections and hospitalizations across most US states have begun dropping as the vaccine takes its effect across the country. In New Jersey, over 6 million vaccines have been administered thus far, and over 40% of the state’s 4.7 million adults have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

CHEMED, in partnership with the Lakewood Board of Education and others, is offering appointments to receive a vaccine to all the newly eligible individuals in Lakewood. Vaccines are currently being administered by the hundreds each day at CHEMED’s multiple vaccine locations, and Lakewood has become a leader in the efficient administration of the vaccine.

Vaccines for all age 16 and over will be administered from Monday 4/19 through Thursday 4/22 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the CHEMED vaccine clinic located at the Woodlake Country Club, 25 New Hampshire Avenue.

Parents should be sure to bring their insurance cards and ID. While the form was created specifically for students, children and adults not in school can still use it. Simply fill it out as best you can.
